Here's the wedding planning timeline for 3 to 6 month prior to the wedding day. Be sure to read the 6 to 12 month wedding checklist first to ensure you have a realistic overview of what's to come and how much work is ahead of you, regardless of how manys months you have to plan your wedding. The list provided, is only a sample timeline and can be changed according to your own unique wedding plans. This is merely a guide to help you with the wedding planning. Some brides may feel that they are stuck with the whole responsibility of being their own wedding planner. As a bride, you must learn to delegate and express your needs. Communicate affectively to your bridal party and family so things run smoothly in the lead up to your wedding day. The wedding timeline was specifically created to help the bride and her bridal party plan their own wedding. Start delegating tasks to your fiance, bridal party and to both parents in advance. Your bridal party are your supporting cast and they each have their duties and responsibilties. If your bridal party are not aware of them, it's bests to direct them here, to The other option is wedding planning software.   • Decide on honeymoon destination and make all the necessary bookings.

  • Ensure you have current passports if travelling overseas for honeymoon.

  • Purchase airline or travel tickets.

  • Visit your doctor for a complete physical examination.

  • Start a mini fitness program and follow a healthy diet. This will help minimise stress associated with wedding.

  • Order bridal gown and decide on bridal accessories.

  • Shop for bridal lingerie.

  • Order bridal party attire; bridesmaids, flowergirls etc.

  • Order mother of the bride's attire.

  • Select, order or reserve the grooms, groomsmens and pageboys attire.

  • Shop for wedding decorations, candles, ribbons etc.

  • Order wedding bands/wedding rings

  • Edit your guest list and arrange in alphabetical order.

  • Decide who will print your wedding invitations, thank you notes, wedding programs and name place cards.

  • Check you have booked or reserved the wedding ceremony site.

  • Discuss the wedding service with officiant.

  • Shop for a guest book.

  • Order wedding bomboniere and or bridal favours.

  • Choose the music for your wedding ceremony.

  • Choose wedding reception music.

  • Discuss the type of music you want played at your wedding reception with musicians and DJ's.

  • Make transportation arrangements. Reserve wedding cars and or bridal limousine.

  • Reserve honeymoon suite for wedding night.

  • Shop for wedding gifts for the bridal registry. Pick a reputable store located in most towns or cities for your guests convenience.

  • Start your wedding website, update any new posts.

  • Choose a bridal hair and makeup professional.

  • Discuss floral arrangements with florist. A local florist is preferrable.

  • Finalise the flowers you want in your bouquet, you can tie this in with your colour scheme and wedding theme.

  • Meet with your wedding photographer to discuss the wedding.

  • Meet with your wedding videograher to discuss the wedding.

  • Decide on the shape and design of the wedding reception cake.

  • Confirm rental equipment hire, for wedding ceremony and or reception. Check for availability on how many chairs, chair coverings etc, that will be available.

  • Meet with the wedding reception caterers, if the catering is not supplied by wedding venue.

  • Or make an appointment with the reception to discuss menu possibilities and unique requests.

  • Make a tasting appointment with your wedding caterer.

  • Discuss rehearsal dinner with your fiancé.p
